new royal caribbean ships

Royal Caribbean has formalized their order for a third ship in a series of Freedom class ships from shipbuilder Aker Finnyards.

The new ship will carry 3,600 guests when completed. The new order will enter service in early 2008.

You may already be familiar with the Freedom class ships' predecessor, the Voyager class.

These ships have been very popular, with on-board entertainment including rock-climbing and ice-skating, for example.

The Freedom class is an upgrade, being 15 percent larger and with new features, not yet revealed, however.

All in all, Royal Caribbean (Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises) have a total of 29 ships in service.
