Nashville Italian Restaurants

There is a thriving Italian community in Nashville that organizes events such as the Italian Street Fair, a four-day annual festival (organized in September) that attracts about 100,000 fair-goers from throughout the mid-South.

The festival also has "A Taste of Italy" food court, where you can sample authentic Italian food including pasta, pizza, and cannoli.

One of the local favorites is Basante's (1800 W End Ave, phone: (615) 320-0534), located at the Day's Inn on the West End, is a chef-owned Italian restaurant where, according to the chef, nothing is pre-cooked, not even the sauce.
