Internet Cafe Products
Internet cafe products include food, drinks, computer repair, and laptop rental services.
The main purpose, normally, of an internet cafe is to get clients to the cybercafe with the idea of them using the available computers. However, if your business plan stops at that, you are probably leaving money on the table, so to speak, on unrealized revenue on follow up sales. Some internet cafes go too far on trying to make additional sales, however, stuffing their cafe full like it's a supermarket and making very few sales as a result. Instead, when trying to make additional sales, it pays to offer some smartly selected additional products and services that are related to the core business. For example, if you have a cybercafe that specializes on providing computer games environment (a gaming cafe), as many do nowadays, I've seen many successful internet cafes offer drinks and food, as well as snacks and candy, to their customers. These gaming cybercafes are likely to make quite a few sales on these additional items because the people who come to play online games to the cybercafe are likely to spend many hours there, and need food and drinks to keep them going. If you have such a gaming cafe, it may be useful to go to your customers and ask what types of drinks/food they want, and them provide them just that. For example, energy drinks is almost a sure item on those wish-lists. Other additional products in games cafes could be tried out, and keeping those products that have traction. As an example, having gaming magazines or game related t shirts could be on your try-out lists. The same principles apply to other types of internet cafes. For example, if you have an internet cafe in which tourists make the biggest customer group, you can 'think in their shoes' for a while and brainstorm products that might bring good additional sales, such as local tourism memorabilia, prepay phone cards, and similar items that tourists often have the habit of purchasing.
