Internet Cafe Designs

Internet cafe designs are an important consideration when you're trying to maximise profits per sq. ft.

The easiest way to approach the design question is to start Internet cafe franchises. Franchisors typically have premade plans for overall design, color schemes, furniture placement, customer flow, and so on.

Another option is to work with an Internet cafe startup consulting company, such as Stuff About Games (stuffaboutgames.com). They can guide you through successful design options without the inflexibility of franchise requirements, franchise fees, or ongoing revenue sharing plans of franchises.

Overall, much is dependent on the demand vs supply situation. If your business is situated so luckily that demand for seats is greater than what you can offer, you may go for a very effective, tight design of the cafe, where every square feet produces money.

This is the situation in many Chinese cybercafes, in towns where the need for basic Internet access drives customers to cybercafes.

However, cafes that are not so lucky, sometimes go for a more upmarket approach rather than design for efficiency. The idea is to get more profit per customer instead of trying to go for high volume approach.

Pre-made Internet Cafe Designs

When designing your cybercafe, you don't have to re-invent the wheel, so to speak. You can learn from the existing Internet cafes, and how they've made their places work.

Really good examples are those Internet cafes that have been around for years. The failure rate for Internet cafes (and cafes in general) is high, and those cyber cafes that have been in business for years are probably worth studying and their design worth copying to some extent.

To learn about the approaches taken by existing Internet cafes to design, you can check out the companies featured in the Internet cafe directory.

Each company listed in there has a website, and many of them provide pictures of their cafes layout and design.

If you don't want to check the cafes one-by-one, you can always take a look at Internet cafe pictures and ideas for Internet cafe furniture.
