Hourly Car Rentals Popularity Increases

Hourly car rentals are proving to be a viable alternative to owning a car for many families in densily populated areas.

There are an increasing number of car rental companies providing car rental by the hour, so that families can rent a car when they need one, thus saving the costs of owning and buying a car.

To meet this demand for short notice, short term rentals, there are more hourly car rental companies than ever. These companies are also known as car sharing companies.

For example, in Washington, D.C. , there are already two such companies, Zipcar and Flexcar.

These hourly car rental companies have small numbers of cars in D.C. neighborhoods across the region that users can reserve either online or by phone.

The two companies have now a total of 226 cars in D.C. and have signed up more than 14,000 members.
