AirTran to Start Flights to Richmond

After long negotiations, AirTran decided to start cheap flights to Richmond from June 23, 2005.

The routes that are planned from/to Richmond include four flights a day to Atlanta, and two a day to Philadelphia, with connections to Boston.

Also, on Nov. 8, AirTran started flying from Richmond to Orlando (where AirTran's headquarters are located).

According to the press release about the news, expect to pay for a nonstop, round-trip flight to Atlanta from about $158.

As for AirTran's location at the Richmond airport, AirTran's new gate location will be in Concourse A, near US Airways and American.

The budget airline's downstairs ticket counter will be next to Delta.
