Airport Internet Cafe
Airport internet cafe stores and kiosks are available at almost every airport, but there are huge differences into why some are successful while others are not.
The most funny thing is going on in Auckland airport in New Zealand. That airport has coin operated internet terminals, but they are always empty, and that is because there are free internet connected terminals from Samsung available just meters away. However, even when Samsung wasn't providing those free internet computer terminals, the coin operated kiosks were not used at all, while the free terminals have a line of people wanting to use them, almost 24/7. So, obviously, there is demand for people wanting to use computers with internet on airports, but the challenge to the airport internet cafe operators is to market their services as they can't simply trust that people will find the terminals on their own. On airport locations, the success of the internet cafes is very much related to location, location, location. Some of the best locations are where the people will wait, such as at near the arrivals hall, where people wait for their loved ones to come out of the customs and baggage retrieval. And there is also the case to be made for marketing inside the areas where the computer terminals are. Coin operated terminals just sitting there without any fanfare seem to do more badly than when you have people an actual cybercafe setting with an effort to pull the people in.
